Steps To Closing

This information is for home buyers who have just scheduled a closing date. We’re so excited for you! Whether it’s your first home or first of many, Boyd Homes has a process in place to make things go as smoothly as possible.

You can bookmark this page or print/email the Home Closing Checklist so you can refer to it often. Starting two weeks before closing through the closing date this guide will take you through connecting utilities, changing your address, scheduling a walk-through of your new home for the buyers and their agents, scheduling a time to close, and scheduling the delivery of your household goods.

Warranty Subcontractors

All newly built homes are under a construction warranty for the first 12 months you own your home. A list of home items and the subcontractor partners you should call for the items listed are found by clicking the WARRANTY SUBCONTRACTORS button. If you need service for any warranty item, you can contact them directly.

2-10 Warranty

Your newly built home is automatically covered by a 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. Once you close on your newly built home, you will receive a Certificate of Warranty Coverage. You can then register your new home with a national warranty program that provides protection for workmanship, distribution systems, and structural defects.
